Police Rotation Program

Here's How It Works! The Police finds a homeless family or person and checks them out.

They check for:

  • Outstanding warrants
  • Danger to self or others
  • Mental Illness
  • Weapons
  • Drugs

Lastly, the police asks the person if they want help to get off the street.

Police Contact the Call Center

The Call Center calls the Lead volunteer from the "Church of the Month" with.....

  • Homeless person's name and location
  • Time that the police call was received
  • Officer's name and phone number

The Church sends 2 or more volunteers to go respond to the call together

THE HOMELESS RESPONSE TEAM

  • Meets the homeless family or homeless individual
  • Access the needs
  • Determine actions
  • Takes actions
  • Writes up a summary on a provided summary form
  • Reports back to Project TOUCH coordinator
  • Conducts a post-month debriefing
